Yixiang Chen

Chen graduated from the University of Otago in New Zealand with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2006. Over the next decade, he worked in and managed a busy private clinic, gaining extensive experience in treating musculoskeletal and sports-related injuries. During this time, he also worked with elite-level sports teams across rugby union, rugby league, soccer, golf, and squash.

With a strong interest in musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy, Chen has pursued advanced training in McKenzie therapy, Mulligan techniques, manipulative manual therapy, Western acupuncture, and dry needling to further enhance his clinical skills. In 2014, he completed a Master of Clinical Practice in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy at Auckland University of Technology, equipping him with advanced diagnostic and treatment capabilities.

Chen is highly skilled in manual therapy, exercise prescription, dry needling, and both pre- and post-operative rehabilitation. He is passionate about helping people manage pain and improve movement across all stages of life.

In addition to his clinical work, Chen has many years of experience supervising and teaching undergraduate physiotherapy students, as well as mentoring new graduate physiotherapists.

Since relocating with his family to Melbourne in 2016, Chen continues to provide expert care to his patients. He is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese and is dedicated to offering culturally sensitive treatment to a diverse range of clients.
