Nathaniel Martin

D.Physio, B.ExS.ci, APAM

Nathaniel joined Berwick and Pakenham Lakeside Physiotherapy in January 2019, fresh from graduating with a Doctor of Physiotherapy from University of Melbourne in 2018. Prior to this, he graduated with distinction from a Bachelor of Exercise & Sport Science at Deakin University in 2015 after moving to Melbourne from his native Hobart in 2013.

In 2024, he took on the role of Clinical Lead at Clyde North, and now consults out of the Berwick and Clyde North practices.

Nathaniel has a thirst for finding the newest evidence-based treatment for patients to reach their goals, combining manual techniques for pain relief with structured rehabilitation exercise in order to achieve this. He believes that for patients to achieve the best results, the most critical aspect of successful practice is being able to empower the patient to feel included in and take control of their own rehabilitation.

Developing meaningful, productive and trusting relationships with his patients is the thing he enjoys most about the job.

Due to his sporting background, which included playing football at State League level in Tasmania and suburban leagues in Melbourne, he has a special interest in lower limb sporting injuries, and especially enjoys the diagnostic challenge and rehabilitation process behind these types of ailments.

Outside work, he enjoys trying to keep fit (hard now that he has retired from footy!), spending time with his wife and toddler, and watching the mighty Hawks.
