Nathaniel Martin

B.ExSci, D.Physio, APAM

Nathaniel joined Berwick & Pakenham Lakeside Physiotherapy in January 2019, fresh from graduating with a Doctor of Physiotherapy from University of Melbourne in 2018.  Prior to this, he graduated with distinction from a Bachelor of Exercise & Sport Science at Deakin University in 2015 after moving to Melbourne from his native Hobart in 2013.

Nathaniel has a thirst for finding the newest evidence-based treatment for patients to reach their goals, combining manual techniques for pain relief with structured rehabilitation exercise in order to achieve this. He believes that for patients to achieve the best results, the most critical aspect of successful practice is being able to empower the patient to feel included in and take control of their own rehabilitation.

Due to his sporting background, he has a special interest in lower limb sporting injuries, and especially enjoys the diagnostic challenge and rehabilitation process behind these types of ailments.

Outside work, Nathaniel has a great passion for both sport and music. He has played football for most of his life, both at state league level in Tasmania and suburban level in Melbourne, currently playing at VAFA club Prahran Assumption FC, as well as trying to get to as many live gigs as he can. Always up for a chat about sport, he is an avid follower of AFL, EPL, NFL & NBA, especially the Hawthorn and Liverpool Football Clubs.
