David completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 1999 from La Trobe University. After gaining further experience in Australia and the UK, David started working at Berwick Physiotherapy in 2003. He completed his Masters in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy at the end of 2005 and became a partner in the business in 2006.
David has a particular interest in treating spinal dysfunction and pain with a strong bias on improving functional strength and optimal biomechanics. He also enjoys the assessment and treatment of sporting injuries and has a good relationship with the local football and netball community. He has an intricate knowledge and understanding in the treatment of shoulder injuries such as that seen in throwing sports like baseball and cricket, with himself representing Victoria in baseball and touring the United States on two occasions.
He enjoys treating all kinds of injuries. His day to day client list can have a lot of variation where he manages a diverse case load. In any given day he can be managing injuries sustained on the football field, in the garden, at work, riding a horse, Irish dancing or even as a mixed martial artist athlete.
David is closely involved with St John of God Hospital where he helps manage the physiotherapy services which include hip and knee joint replacement and arthroscopic and reconstruction surgery. He is involved with the rehabilitation of surgical procedures with specifically designed gym-based strength and function programs for this group of patients.
David has a passion for helping his patients achieve the best possible outcomes and tries to empower each person with the ability to manage and prevent further issues from developing in the future.
In his spare time David enjoys being involved with his kid’s local footy, basketball and netball teams.
